Printmaking
On discovering printmaking, I fell head over heels in love. The process of carving a new block is the perfect mediation. Peeling away the layers, as the image takes on a three-dimensional form. Etching a drawing taken from my sketchbook. Manipulating ink to the perfect consistency, coupled with the excitement of pulling the first print. The anticipation of printmaking is addictive.
Collage
Collage offers complete escapism. The thrill of finding the perfect, random materials and images. The slow process of hand cutting each element of the design. Intuitively piecing together those found images and pieces of text. Reimagining their original purpose to tell a new story. The possibilities of collage are endless.
